from our Region 2 Outreach Chair:  Region 2 has been hard at work for the past two years designing and implementing an Outreach program to help our Councils and local units reach out to and engage members of their local communities who are currently not represented on PTA/PTSA boards or in the general membership.  This effort culminated in the first ever Outreach Fair at the mid-Winter conference last February. JMarie Johnson-Kola and her Outreach committee did an amazing job of researching and setting up this wonderful event.  So now is a good time to check in and ask how everyone is doing.  Do you have an Outreach Chair?  At your local units?  What events do you put on that address the issues of diversity and inclusiveness?...  Please get in touch with your ideas, suggestions, and questions.  I will do my best to get you answers and point you in the right direction. Outreach is an important initiative for PTA this year.  One of our Council VPs will dedicate efforts in this area, serving on the Region's Outreach Advisory Board.  The six councils in Region 2 will meet monthly to discuss trends, demographics, and goals.
